Derrevere Stevens Black & Cozad Expands National Workers’ Compensation Subrogation Practice with Addition of Industry-Leading Team

DSB&C Expands National Workers’ Compensation Subrogation Practice

Derrevere Stevens Black & Cozad (DSB&C) is proud to announce a major expansion of its Workers’ Compensation Subrogation Practice Group with the addition of Partners Robert Caplan and Brett Tishler, formerly of White and Williams LLP, along with their accomplished team of attorneys and legal professionals.

Joining Rob and Brett are Senior Associates Po Fu Cheng, N. Michael Abed, and Associate Brian Gelnett. These additions significantly deepen DSB&C’s subrogation bench and reinforce its position as a national leader in complex, multi-jurisdictional recoveries.

This expansion coincides with the opening of DSB&C’s newest office in Philadelphia, marking a significant milestone in the firm’s continued growth along the East Coast and strengthening its national footprint in high-stakes workers’ compensation subrogation. The firm now maintains offices up and down the Eastern Seaboard, supporting clients across all 50 states.

Veteran DSB&C attorneys, Partner Anne-Marie Dale and Of Counsel/Trial Attorney Kristin Bianculli, will continue to lead the worker’s compensation subrogation practice in Florida and the Southeast, working closely with the new additions to deliver seamless service and superior results coast to coast.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Rob, Brett, and their exceptional team to the firm,” said Michael B. Stevens, Managing Partner of DSB&C. “Workers’ compensation subrogation demands precision, persistence, and deep subject-matter expertise. This team brings all of that—and more. Their arrival accelerates our national growth trajectory while reinforcing the firm’s commitment to elite client service, innovation, and meaningful recoveries.”

Rob Caplan, a graduate of Temple University Beasley School of Law and Pennsylvania State University, brings more than 36 years of legal experience, including over two decades leading one of the country’s most respected workers’ compensation subrogation practices. Brett Tishler, a Widener Law School graduate and Temple University alumnus, adds more than 18 years of experience and has worked alongside Rob for the past 15 years, building a track record of exceptional client outcomes.

The DSB&C attorneys in the newly expanded Workers’ Compensation Subrogation Practice Group have collectively recovered billions of dollars for their clients and are recognized nationwide for their aggressive pursuit of lien recoveries, strategic litigation, and deep understanding of state-specific challenges.

“Our entire team is honored to join DSB&C,” said Rob Caplan. “The firm’s culture, vision, and commitment to excellence align perfectly with ours. We’re excited to embark on this next chapter and continue delivering industry-leading results for our clients.”
