Biography
Alain Lecusay is a seasoned litigator and a former licensed general contractor with over 35 years of experience in the industry, practicing since 2004, and admitted to both the Florida and Federal Bars.
Alain began his career in the construction field as a Laborer. As he gained experience, he was promoted to Superintendent and then Construction Manager. He became a General Contractor in 1996.
Alain graduated cum laude from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2003. There, as an Articles Editor, he published a piece on Delay Damages that the Supreme Court of Virginia cited in a case of first impression. From there, and after a brief stint as a Law Instructor on Contracts and Civil Procedure, he went on for 21 years, to empathetically represent the interests of owners, contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, suppliers, sureties, insurers, condominiums, and homeowner associations in defect claims, lien foreclosures, bond claims, contract disputes, commercial conflicts, and real estate matters, both in trial and appellate courts; and further to serve, years long, as In-House Counsel to a national, long established large contractor.
Alain is a passionate practitioner, a problem solver, a conflict master, and a lover of all things construction law.
